Researchers’ Night – 2016 edition

"Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu has organized this year, as well, the Researchers' Night – 2016 edition, an important European event which provided the citizens from Sibiu with the occasion to meet researchers from various fields and to participate to novel scientific actions, organized within a fun and non-conventional environment.

On September 30, 2016, starting from 16:00 hrs, the fascinating universe of science opened its gates in a number of locations of "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, among which the Science Department, where a number of experiments, exhibitions, competitions, visits inside the research laboratories as well as great many other activities were organized, targeting the general public from Sibiu of all ages, but especially young people.

During this event, the results achieved within the project SIDPOP – Support instrument for decision making in the management of persistent organic pollutants. Case study: Mureş catchment area funded from the EEA 2009-2014 grants, part of the Ro04 Programme – Reduction of Hazardous Substances were promoted and an awareness campaign related to the management of surface water ecosystems with persistent organic pollutants was organized among the members of the public attending the event, in order to mitigate the risks to public health and environment.
