Guendalina Peconio is a research fellow at the University of Foggia (Italy). She holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Education and is a psychologist. Her research interests focus on teacher training, with particular emphasis on human capital development and entrepreneurship education.

The digital environment and technologies provide unprecedented means and opportunities for people to express themselves in different ways, to discover, learn and create, and to communicate and socialise. But they also bring new challenges. Digital citizenship is the capacity to participate actively, continuously and responsibly in communities online and offline, through competent and positive engagement with digital technologies (by creating, working, sharing, socialising, investigating, playing, communicating and learning).

The seminar, that will be held on the 28th of January 2025, is the perfect occasion to get to know about the most relevant concepts that stand behind the definition of Digital Citizenship Education. The session will also address on of the most interesting strands that the Council of Europe developed withing the framework of Digital Citizenship Education: Video Game Culture. Video Games can offer a very fertile ground to develop Digital Citizenship Education and we will try to understand why and how.

Workshop - TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHERS’ TRAINING: THE NORWEGIAN REVOLUTION AND A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN NORWAY AND ITALY

Piergiorgio Guarini is a PhD in Neuroscience and Education. He is currently waiting to defend his PhD thesis. The thesis explores the evolution of the Italian teachers’ training system, the digital competences definition and evolution in the Italian, European and OCSE scientific production and some good practises of digital competences teachers’ training in several European Countries. His interests include digital gamification and digital Serious Games. He is a Project Writer and Project Manager, with a great expertise on Erasmus+ Projects KA220, main topic digital technologies for higher education. He collaborates with Professor Raffaele Di Fuccio from Pegaso University (Italy), Professor Siri Sollied Madsen from University of Tromsø (Norway), Professor Lukasz Tomczyk from Jagiellonian University (Poland) and Professor Daniel Mara from “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu (Romania).
