Ionela Vlase, lecturer, University Lucian Blaga of Sibiu
Ionela Vlase holds a PhD in Sociology (2009) at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland where she has served as teaching and research assistant (2004-2008). Currently she is senior lecturer in Sociology at the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, Romania. Her main research interests concern life course, migration, gender, and quality of life. She is the author of articles published in academic journals like European Societies, European Journal of Women’s Studies, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies. Ionela Vlase has also a vast record of participation in research projects dealing with migration, ethnicity, gender and social stratification. Bogdan Voicu, senior researcher, Research Institute for Quality of Life, Bucharest
Bogdan Voicu, prof.dr.habil., is Professor of Sociology with Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu and 1st degree Research Fellow with Romanian Academy, Research Institute for Quality of Life. He also holds a BA in Economic Cybernetics and Forecasting. His main interests are related to comparative sociology, but his publications cover a broader range of issues, including social change, social values, international migration, and social/political participation. His work is published in various peer-reviewed journals, including Social Indicators Research, European Sociological Review, Current Sociology, European Political Science Review, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, etc. He is member of various research networks and associations, including European Survey Research Association, European Values Study (Program Director for Romania), IMISCOE, Romanian Quantitative Studies Association (president), Romanian Election Studies, World Values Survey (principal investigator – Romania), etc. He is also part of the network of correspondents of the Eurofound. Past employment include LISER (Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research), Eastern Univesity (Pennsylvania), Bucharest School of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Bucharest, etc. Previous collaborations also include consultancy for World Bank, European Commission (EACEA), EBRD, UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO, Soros Foundation, USAID, Romanian Ministry of Education, European University Association, Renault, OMV-Petrom, various NGOs, with a focus on policy analysis and policy recommendations. Bogdan is trained in various statistical techniques and published using methods such as multilevel modelling, structural equation modelling, latent class analysis, cluster analysis, panel data analysis, etc. Apart from MigLife, his current projects include a study on emigration impact on voting ˙(with dr. Dragoș Radu), a project on work-life balance in the case of teleworkers (a mixed team: Romanian Academy/Goethe Universität von Frankfurt), a project on city-scale effects on migrants' life-satisfaction (with dr. Ana Maria Preoteasa, senior researcher, Research Institute for Quality of Life, Bucharest
Ana Maria Preoteasa, Ph.D. in Sociology (University of Bucharest, 2009), is a senior researcher with the Research Institute for Quality of Life, Romanian Academy. Her expertise regards the areas of quality of life, employment and social policy. She was involved in several national and international research projects regarding employment quality and policies, poverty and vulnerable groups. She was member in several academic projects, involving comparative and longitudinal analysis, and the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods. She is author or co-author of more than 25 articles, chapters and books.
Anca Bejenaru, associate professor, University Lucian Blaga of Sibiu

Alin Croitoru, lecturer, University Lucian Blaga of Sibiu
Alin Croitoru is a lecturer at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu and a researcher at the University of Bucharest. He holds a PhD in sociology at the University of Bucharest (2013) and his sociological interests are mainly focused on migration and entrepreneurship. He has participated in a series of national and international research projects related to migration topics and these projects offered him the opportunity to conduct some field research within Romanian communities of immigrants in Austria, Denmark, Italy and the United Kingdom as well as with migrant returnees in Romania.
Mădălina Mărginean, postgraduate student, University Lucian Blaga of Sibiu
Mădălina Mărginean is enrolled in a master degree at the University Lucian Blaga of Sibiu. She is experienced in conducting interviews and holds interest in qualitative methods of social research. Her previous research concerns gender stereotypes in written press.
