Viorel Proteasa holds a PhD in Political Science from SNSPA Bucharest. His research covers various social phenomena largely circumscribed to universities and students, ranging from research evaluation policies to students’ movements and organizations. He has been involved in developing digital platforms linking student records with employment data, initially at the West University of Timișoara and later nationally under the Executive Agency for Higher Education and RDI Funding (angajabilitate.uefiscdi.ro). He served as a member of the Bologna Process Secretariat hosted by Romania from 2010 to 2012 and has contributed to various strategic projects of the Executive Agency.

Viorel Proteasa is affiliated with the Department of Governance Sciences at the West University of Timișoara, Romania. He teaches at the Public Administration study programme and enjoys supervising his students doing research for their Ba theses.
