Highlights from the First Weeks of FERBOPO ERA Chair Project

FERBOPO, funded under the European Research Area (ERA) program, aims to establish a new research group exploring the complex relationship between State, Church, and Body Politics.

An internationally acclaimed scholar from St. Francis Xavier University, Professor Lavinia Stan took the position as ERA Chair Holder for the FERBOPO Project at ULBS. Based on her extensive expertise in governance, religion, economics, and feminist epistemology, Professor Stan’s involvement in this Horizon Europe Project marks a pivotal moment for ULBS.

First Steps of FERBOPO

In the first weeks of the project, Lavinia Stan and key project team members, Ionela Vlase and Mihaela Herciu established the premises of the action plan for FERBOPO ERA Chair Project to ensure the correct implementation of the project. The team also set up the project’s digital presence, planned key activities for the next months with a focus on stakeholder engagement.

During the first few weeks of this Horizon Europe Project, Prof. Lavinia Stan connected with the ULBS community in various meetings and visits:

  • ‘Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies and Research’ – this key visit emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary for excellence in academic research
  • ‘Research Center of Social Research Lucian Blaga University’ – this meeting addressed key research projects in social sciences that align with FERBOPO’s objectives
  • ‘Lucian Blaga University Library’ – this visit highlighted the essential role of academic resources available for early-stage and experienced researchers to facilitate valuable research projects and papers.
  • Introductory meetings with various ULBS early-stage and experienced researchers eager to enhance the reach of FERBOPO.
  • Meetings with ULBS leadership to discuss the implementation this EU-funded project.

These visits and meetings marked the beginning of the EU-Funded FERBOPO ERA Chair Project that will focus on generating institutional reforms at ULBS and structural changes for ERA integration.

The next phase of FERBOPO will include detailed planning for research activities and various events.
