Book Launch Event: Post-Communist Progress and Stagnation at 35

On December 9, 2024, FERBOPO ERA Chair Project and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu hosted the launch of the book Post-Communist Progress and Stagnation at 35: The Case of Romania, edited by Lavinia Stan and Diane Vancea and published by Palgrave Macmillan.

Moderated by Ionela Vlase, the panel for the book launch featured distinguished contributors, including Florin Anghel, Rodica Milena Zaharia, Alexandra Horobeț, Dana Alexandru, and Claudia Ogrean. The speakers shared their insights regarding Romania’s successes, challenges, and unexpected twists during its transition, generating engaging discussions, on Romania’s 35-year journey since the fall of communism. The event was attended by ULBS Rector Professor Sorin Radu, academics, and distinguished faculty. 

As part of the Horizon Europe-funded FERBOPO project, this event highlighted a significant academic contribution of FERBOPO’s ERA Chair Holder, Professor Lavinia Stan, and showcased the project’s commitment to fostering valuable research in social science.
