Article Abstract

To mark this anniversary year, in which East European Politics and Societies (EEPS) celebrates forty years since its inception, we invited editors and contributors to put together online-only “virtual issues” of articles that have been published in our journal during the last five years. As part of the initiative, we are offering this virtual issue, which gathers nine articles related to women and women’s issues selected and presented by Dr. Lavinia Stan. These contributions, which showcase the range and depth of arguments our journal has featured on those topics, draw on a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives and speak on a diversity of themes relevant to women. The virtual issue does not exhaust the variety of articles on women and women’s issues that appeared over the years in EEPS. As such, we invite readers to browse further in past issues for additional articles relevant for their work and/or to submit new manuscripts in this area. The topic continues to draw keen interest and to occasion outstanding research. The editors look forward to receiving future virtual issues on key topics, themes, countries, and debates that fall within the scope of EEPS.
