The FERBOPO project is pleased to share that Professor Lavinia Stan, ERA Chair Holder and internationally recognised scholar in government, religion, and body politics, was recently featured in an in-depth interview in the Dutch magazine Nieuwe Revu.

In the interview, Prof. Stan reflects on the enduring role of the Romanian Orthodox Church in national identity, particularly in light of the opening of the world’s largest Orthodox cathedral in Bucharest.

She discusses how historical religion shaped cultural unity in Romania, the complex relationship between church and state, and the continuing significance of religious institutions in post-communist societies.

This interview highlights key themes at the heart of FERBOPO’s research and contributes to public engagement on issues of faith, politics, and social life.
